Chatbot For The Promotion of Nutritional Habits In Primary Care

This study presents the development and implementation of a ChatBot designed to promote healthy nutritional habits within the community served by the Ancón Primary Health Center. The initiative arises in response to high rates of overweight and obesity in adults, and chronic malnutrition in 32% of children under five, combined with the lack of an in-house nutritionist. A non-experimental design with a mixed-methods approach was applied, including interviews and a survey administered to 72 participants to assess ChatBot’s perceived usefulness. Results from Spearman’s correlation showed a strong and positive relationship between the nutritional information delivered and user ratings of the ChatBot (rho=0.796; p=0.000), demonstrating its effectiveness as a support tool for nutritional education. The study confirms that virtual assistants can strengthen the promotion of healthy eating habits in primary care settings.
