An Approach To Intelligent Business Process Management In The Context of Industry 5.0

The transition toward Industry 5.0 introduces a new industrial paradigm in which technological advancement is aligned with human-centricity, sustainability, and resilience. In this context, Intelligent Business Process Management (iBPM) emerges as a key enabler of adaptive and value-oriented organizational transformation. This study explores how iBPM integrates advanced digital technologies—including artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotic process automation, process mining, the Internet of Things, and cyber-physical systems—into cohesive, self-optimizing process ecosystems that enhance agility, real-time decision-making, and operational transparency. To address the growing cybersecurity demands of highly connected industrial environments, the research also introduces an Intelligent VPN Access Provisioning Model. The model complements the iBPM framework by providing adaptive, risk-aware, and automated remote access control based on dynamic risk assessment, behavioral analytics, contextual evaluation, and Zero Trust principles. It ensures secure human–machine collabo-ration and protects critical digital assets while minimizing administrative overhead and exposure to unauthorized access. The study proposes a conceptual architecture integrating technological, organizational, and security dimensions into a unified intelligent framework. The findings indicate that the combined implementation of iBPM and intelligent access provisioning enhances organizational resilience, supports sustainable resource utilization, and strengthens cybersecurity governance. Ultimately, the research demonstrates that intelligent process management, reinforced by adaptive security mechanisms, represents a holistic and strategic foundation for secure, sustainable, and human-centric digital transformation in the era of Industry 5.0.
