Research On Green and Digital Transformation: A Bibliometric Study

The green and digital transformation has become a central challenge for industrial engineering and operations management, as organizations are increasingly required to combine sustainability objectives with advanced digital technologies. Despite growing scholarly attention, existing research remains fragmented across disciplines and lacks an integrated understanding of the organizational impact of this dual transition. This paper addresses this gap by conducting a bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature on the green–digital transformation. Based on a dataset of 1,057 publications retrieved from the Scopus database, the study applies descriptive performance analysis, keyword co-occurrence analysis, and citation analysis to map the evolution, structure, and impact of the field. The results reveal a rapid growth of publications in recent years, with journal articles as the dominant dissemination channel and strong interdisciplinary contributions from business, engineering, environmental science, and computer science. The findings provide a structured overview of the dual green and digital research landscape and identify key research gaps and future directions. The study contributes to the dual transition debate by supporting a more systemic and integrative perspective on digital and sustainable organizational transformation.
