Determinants of Sns 24 Application: An Exploratory Study

Mobile health applications play a crucial role in modern healthcare systems by enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and patient engagement. They allow users to monitor their health in real time, schedule appointments, access medical records, receive medication reminders, and obtain reliable health information anytime and anywhere. For healthcare providers, mobile applications improve communication with patients, streamline administrative processes, and enable data-driven decision-making. Overall, mobile health applications contribute to more patient-centered, accessible, and sustainable healthcare delivery. This study examines some demographic factors influencing the use of the SNS 24 application, using descriptive statistical techniques and logistic regression analysis.

Data were collected through an online survey administered to Portuguese residents, shared between February 18, 2025, and October 3, 2025. Valid responses were collected from 559 respondents, of whom 399 were users of the application. The results indicate that age, education level and presence of chronic disease have a significant and positive impact on the use of the SNS 24 application. Therefore, these demographic factors influence the success and continued adoption of the SNS 24 application. Conversely, the gender was found to be non-significant. This study contributes to the literature in the context of digital health in Portugal and provides practical insights for the application’s strategic management.
