Integrated Approach To Planning Tourist Destinations With Group Decision-Making
Travel enriches and renews us, bringing new and different elements into our lives, opening new horizons to completely different cultures, cuisines, and landscapes. Choosing a destination is influenced by various indicators, such as cultural resources, infrastructure, security, social engagement, sustainability, and economic effects, which require expert assessment from different perspectives. Therefore, the group decision-making approach is suitable for selecting a tourist destination, given the task's complex, multi-criteria nature. For this purpose, a simple and practical approach to group decision-making, based on SAW and WPM, is proposed. The applicability of the proposed approach has been tested for choosing a cultural destination in Bulgaria. The experiments conducted convincingly show the important role of decision-makers in forming the group decision. The use of a group approach leads to a decrease in subjectivity and an increase in the objectivity of the results, and to a more balanced and scientifically sound assessment that reflects the problem's complexity.
