On Quantum Generative Ai In Climate Change

With the recent intensification of the climate crisis and the existential threats it poses, the need for actionable and informed decision making has become increasingly urgent. Such decisions require accurate information ranging from greenhouse gas emission assessment to weather forecasting and natural disaster prediction. The adoption of the latest technologies is therefore critical to the success of these efforts. In this paper, we first cover the fundamental concepts of Generative Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing and perform a statistical analysis on their recent adoption in this domain. Following that, we study the literature on climate-related applications of each technology with an in-depth analysis of recent publications. This literature review is concluded with a discussion of existing gaps, limitations, and perspectives
