Information Systems Planning Method Based On Swot Analysis

Information systems planning (PSI) is essential to align technology and organizational strategy. The article proposes an information systems planning method based on SWOT analysis, integrating eight traditional stages of IS planning with the systematic identification of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The method allows prioritizing IS projects based on strategic, technical and operational criteria, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. A practical example is presented in a fictitious company in the retail sector, illustrating each stage of the method, from the characterization of the organization to the implementation, monitoring and review of information systems.
