The Role of Artificial Intelligence In Personalizing Elearning Environments For Trainers

Abstract —This position paper examines the modernization of vocational training information systems in the context of digital transformation and continuous qualification. Current systems are often rigid, poorly interoperable, and technologically outdated, limiting adaptability and innovation. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is identified as a promising approach to address these limitations, particularly by supporting trainers, whose role has been overlooked in most existing AI-based solutions that focus mainly on automation or learner performance. A brief overview of AI in e-learning shows persistent challenges, such as limited adaptive personalization, weak integration across platforms, and insufficient support for trainers in managing learning environments. The state of the art highlights the potential of AI to enhance digital training ecosystems, but gaps remain in frameworks that center on trainer empowerment. To respond to these challenges, this research proposes the design, development, and validation of an AI-based technological framework for vocational training. The methodology adopted is Design Science Research (DSR), supporting iterative development, testing, and refinement. Case studies in real or simulated contexts will ensure both scientific rigor and practical utility. The expected outcome is a scalable and transferable solution that empowers trainers with decision-support tools, enables adaptive learning pathways, and strengthens alignment with digital environments.
