Traceability System For Agro-Industrial Products
Traceability has become a critical requirement in agro-industrial supply chains due to increasing regulatory pressure, food safety concerns, and growing consumer demand for transparency. While Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems provide integrated support for business processes, many existing platformsparticularly open-source solutions - lack configu-rable and robust traceability functionalities. This paper presents the con-ceptual and technical foundations of an ongoing project aimed at develop-ing an open-source traceability module integrated into the ERP system FrontAccounting. The study identifies limitations in current ERP-based traceability capabilities and proposes a modular and scalable architecture capable of supporting end-to-end monitoring of agro-industrial products. The proposed solution enables product tracking from origin to final con-sumer while supporting auditability, regulatory compliance, and operation-al transparency. By combining ERP integration with emerging digital tech-nologies such as OCR-based document processing, the project contributes to the development of accessible traceability solutions for small and medi-um-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in agro-industrial environments.
